I am D. João V, The Portuguese Sun King!

I ruled Portugal during the first half of the 18th century.

I am one of the richest kings in the world and my kingdom is very luxurious. My people call me "The Magnanimous", because I have the power to help them. I think I received these powers from God.

I am tall and a little fat but I’m quite handsome. I have got big brown eyes, a pointed nose and a long curly grey wig. Look, my clothes are very rich! Sometimes I wear an armor and other times I wear fancy clothes with all kinds of rare accessories, including jewellery! I love French perfume. I must confess that I am a very vain pompous king.

I am also inteligent but I am very stubborn and bossy, because I decide everything by myself and control everything in my kingdom.

Although I am a king with absolute powers, I am polite, sociable, responsible, brave, generous and kind.

I am going to tell you a little secret: I have a very delicate health and suffer from several diseases. I have paralysis and sometimes I feel depressed. My sadness leads me to isolation in my royal chambers …for a while.

I am a very original King!
